Ice Apple has many local names like, in Bengali- Taal Shash, in Hindi- Taal, in Oriya- Tala saja, in Telugu- Taati munjalu, in Marathi- Tadgola, in Gujrati- Tadfali, in Bihar- Taar ka koa, in Tamil- Nongu, in Malayalam- Karimpana Thengu.  Ice Apple has a unique appearance, resembling a large, round berry with brownish exterior. Ice Apple has a refreshing, jelly like flesh that is translucent and watery. The taste is mildly sweet, similar to a blend of coconut water and lychee with soft, smooth and slightly chewy texture.

Ingredients

  • 3 no. Palmyra fruit (young)
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 250 ml milk (boiled and cooled down)
  • 2 tbsp Rose Syrup
  • Ice cubes

Preparation

  • First peel the Ice Apples and then add in a blender young palmyra fruit and powdered sugar and water and blend until you get a smooth puree.
  • Now in a tall glass add 2 tbsp palmyra fruit puree, then add ice cubes and milk.
  • Now add rose syrup and mix well before serving.

Tips:

  • If you don’t want to add ice you can skip adding the ice cubes. Instead, you can chill the milkshake in the refrigerator and enjoy.
  • If you are adding ice in the milk shake then enjoy the milkshake before the ice cubes melt otherwise it will become watery.
  • You can make it vegan by using coconut milk or Almond milk.
