Sumac is a citrusy Middle Eastern spice, it imparts a tangy, lemony flavour to dishes. Beyond its culinary prowess, sumac boasts an array of health benefits. Ingredients
Sumac syrup:
1/2 cup Water
1/2 cup Granulated sugar
1 tbsp Ground Sumac
1 tsp lemon juice
Green apple & Sumac Fizz:
1/4 cup Green Apple syrup
1/4 cup Sumac syrup
Ice cubes
1 cup Seltzer or Club soda
Garnish:
Sea salt
Ground Sumac
Lemon Wedge
Preparation
Sumac syrup:
In a saucepan combine water and ground sumac on medium heat and let simmer for 5 minutes.
Next add sugar and stir. Continue to cook for 5-8 minutes or until the sugar is dissolved.
Once the syrup is ready, turn off the heat and stir in lemon juice and keep aside.
Green Apple & Sumac Fizz:
Rim the glass with lemon wedge an dip in sea salt and ground sumac mixture.
Pour sumac syrup in the glass. Then add ice cubes as required.
Next add green apple syrup and top the glass with seltzer or club soda.
Serve immediately and enjoy.
