Ingredients
1/2 cup Fresh Ginger root (rinsed and chopped)
1/2 cup Sugar
3/4 cup Water
1 tbsp Lemon Peels (optional)
Preparation
- Step 1: In a saucepan combine water and chopped ginger. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cover and cook for 15 minutes.
- Step 2: Then add sugar and lemon peels, simmer the syrup for 15 more minutes.
- Step 3: Turn off the heat and let it steep for 30 minutes. Pour the syrup through a fine mesh strainer.
- Step 4: Store the syrup into a clean airtight glass jar and refrigerate.
