Ingredients needed for Garlic Knots:
For the knots:
Flour: All purpose flour works well. But if you like feel free to use bread flour for a crispier exterior and chewier interior.
Yeast: This recipe uses instant or rapid-rise yeast for quick results, though active dry yeast can also be used.
Powdered Sugar: Sugar provides food for the yeast, aiding in a light and airy texture.
Salt: Adds depth to the flavour, preventing the knots from being bland.
For the Garlic Butter topping:
Butter: Butter adds richness and enhances the overall flavour of the knots.
Olive oil: Olive oil helps the seasonings adhere to the knots and promotes a golden brown finish.
Garlic: Fresh garlic is crucial for that classic garlicky taste. Most of the garlic flavour will come from this ingredient.
Seasonings & Herbs: Fresh parsley or basil adds a burst of fresh flavour to the knots. Italian seasonings and sea salt adds a depth of flavour.

Ingredients
For the Dough:
380 gm All-purpose flour
1 1/2 tbsp Powdered Sugar
2 tsp Salt
2 tsp Instant Yeast
2 cups Warm Water
For the Garlic Butter Toppings:
70 gm Unsalted Butter (melted)
20 ml Olive oil
2 tsp Garlic (grated)
2 tbsp Fresh Parsley (chopped)
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp Sea Salt
Preparation
For the Dough:
- Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, powdered sugar, salt, instant yeast and stir well.

- Step 2: Add warm water and use a spatula to stir until everything is well-combined. Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. After kneading, the dough should feel a little soft. Poke it with your finger- if it slowly bounces back, your dough is ready to rise.

- Step 3: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with cling film and towel. Let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.

- Step 4: Uncover the dough, punch it down and transfer to a work surface. Cut the dough into small equal portions and roll each section into a 8-inch long rope. Grab the ends of each dough rope, tie into a knot shape and tuck in the ends of the knots underneath.

- Step 5: Lightly cover the shaped knots and let them rest for 30-45 minutes. Preheat the oven @230ºC/450ºF.

For the Garlic Butter Toppings:
- Step 6: In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, olive oil, grated garlic, chopped parsley, Italian seasonings and sea salt, stir to combine. Keep aside.

Bake the Garlic knots:
- Step 7: Then brush the puffed garlic knots with garlic-butter toppings and reserve some of the topping. Bake the garlic knots @230ºC/450ºF for 13-15 minutes or until golden brown on top.

- Step 8: Remove the baked knots from the oven and transfer them in a large mixing bowl and pour the remaining garlic-butter topping on the warm baked knots. Cover the knots with a cling film and let them rest for 10 minutes.

- Step 9: Serve them plain or with marinara sauce for dipping.
