Doi Ilish | Bengali Ilish Recipe | Hilsa in Yogurt Sauce | Fish Recipe | Kitchenstagram

Doi Ilish is a renowned Bengali dish made with fresh Hilsa fish, cooked in a creamy yogurt sauce. This flavourful recipe blends aromatic spices with tender Hilsa, creating a rich, tangy curry that pairs perfectly with steamed rice. Known for its distinctive taste, the dish is a variation of the traditional Doi Macch, where different fish like Rui or katla can be used. However, Doi Ilish remains the favourite among Hilsa lovers, offering a lighter option when time is short but flavour is essential. This classic preparation is a true delight for Bengali cuisine enthusiasts.
