Dalgona Coffee Recipe | Whipped Coffee Recipe | Kitchenstagram

Dalgona coffee became a global sensation for its fluffy, whipped texture and bold coffee flavour. While traditionally made with sugar, this version swaps it for honey, offering a natural sweetness with a healthier twist. The rich, airy coffee topping might taste intense on its own, but once mixed with milk, it creates a smooth, balanced drink. Making it is simple, fun and just as delicious- perfect for coffee lovers looking for a wholesome alternative.
What is Dalgona coffee?
Dalgona coffee is a whipped drink made by beating equal parts instant coffee, sugar and hot water into a fluff, frothy texture. This creamy mixture is then spooned over a glass of milk, creating a rich and visually appealing beverage.
Origin of Dalgona Coffee:
Whipped coffee has existed for years, with various countries having their own take on it. However, it gained global fame in South Korea after actor Jung II Woo featured it on a TV show. During his visit to a convenience store cafe, he noticed the coffee’s resemblance to Dalgona, a traditional Korean honeycomb toffee. This led to the drink being popularly called “Dalgona Coffee,” sparking a viral trend as people recreated the frothy beverage at home.
Storage tips:
If you make too much, don’t worry- it stores well in the fridge for up to three days. Keep it in an airtight container, and if it separates, a quick whisk will restore its creamy consistency. You can also freeze the coffee for up to three days. This way, you can enjoy perfectly whipped coffee without having to make it fresh each time. Just scoop, stir and savor!
