Baked Chocolate Gujiya, with its flaky crust and melt-in-the-mouth filling, has always been an essential part of these celebrations. Now, with the addition of chocolate, this beloved treat is bound to become a favorite among kids and adults alike.
These gujiyas are not just a treat for Holi, they can be enjoyed during Diwali, family gatherings, or even as an indulgent snack. Stored in an airtight container, they remain fresh for weeks, making them a perfect make-ahead dessert for festive occasions. Ingredients
1 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
4 tbsp Ghee/ Clarified Butter
2 cups Desiccated Coconut
2 tbsp Cashew nuts, chopped
2 tbsp Almonds, chopped
2 tbsp Raisins
2 tbsp Cocoa powder
1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
1/4 cup Chocolate Chunks, chopped
4 tbsp Milk
1 cup Chocolate, melted
Preparation
- Step 1: In a bowl take all purpose flour along with ghee. Mix it well, then, pour water, gradually and knead it to form a stiff dough. When the dough is done, knead the dough for 15 minutes, cover the bowl with a moist cloth and keep aside for 15 minutes.


- Step 2: Meanwhile, prepare the stuffing. In a mixing bowl, combine desiccated coconut, chopped cashew nuts, chopped almonds, raisins, cocoa powder, powdered sugar and chocolate chunks and mix well again.


- Step 3: Divide the dough and make small balls. Press the small balls with the palm of your hands and then, using a rolling pin, roll them out into small disk.


- Step 4: Place 2 tbsp of stuffing on part of the rolled dough and cover it with the other part. Now seal the edge carefully. Either you can seal the edge with a fork or can twist the edge with a fork or can twist the edge with your hand.


- Step 5: Preheat the oven @180ºC. Brush the gujiyas with milk and bake for 20-25 minutes.


- Step 6: Coat only one side of the gujiya with melted chocolate and garnish with chopped pistachio.


- Step 7: Serve and enjoy!!
