Apple Butter Scones Recipe | Kitchenstagram

The secret to perfect scones? Cold ingredients-especially frozen butter. While most baked goods call for room-temperature ingredients, scones thrive on chilled elements for maximum flakiness.
Buttery, flaky and incredibly moist, these Apple Butter Scones are filled with sweet, spiced apple butter, making each bite a warm, cozy delight. They’re like a treat from a fancy pastry shop but simple enough to make at home. Serve them fresh with a drizzle of caramel sauce or a dusting of cinnamon sugar, and enjoy every bite.
Ingredients needed for Apple Butter Scones :
Creating the perfect Apple Butter Scone starts with simple, high-quality ingredients. Each one plays a key role in bringing out the rich, warm flavours that makes these scones irresistible.
Flour: The foundation of any good scone, all purpose flour provides the structure and texture needed for a sturdy yet tender bite.
Baking powder: This essential leavening agent helps create a light and airy texture, ensuring your scones rise beautifully in the oven.
Spice Mix: Cinnamon is a must have, delivers warmth and depth. A blend of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and all spice adds cozy and spiced flavour profile.
Salt: A pinch of salt is more than just a seasoning-it brings the sweetness and brings out the rich flavours of the apples and spices.
Egg: Adds structure and helps bind everything together while contributing to the scone’s tender crumb.
Butter: Cold butter is the secret to flaky, tender scones. Cut it into dry ingredients using forks or a pastry cutter, ensuring small pockets of butter remain to melt during baking, creating the perfect crumb.
Apple Butter: Whether homemade or store-bought, apple butter adds moisture and an extra punch of spiced apple flavour, making these scones truly special. Try our Homemade Apple Butter Recipe!
Apples: Choose your favourite variety of apples. Freezing chopped apples before mixing them into the dough helps maintain a firm texture while baking.
Milk: Whole milk yields the best texture, but options like sour cream, buttermilk or half-and-half works well too.
